Tuesday\u2019s public hearing for a proposed marijuana dispensary outside Granby was postponed due to a question with the property lease.<\/p>\n
Originally scheduled for 1 p.m. Nov. 12, the hearing for IgadI\u2019s application to open a new retail marijuana store in Grand County was removed from the county commissioners\u2019 agenda.<\/p>\n
According to Grand County Clerk and Recorder Sara Rosene, the county was informed on Thursday that the building at 843 W. Agate Ave. was being subleased to two tenants.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe attorney for (the other subleaser) called me and said \u2018hey, we\u2019ve got a lease on this property, IgadI can\u2019t do this,\u2019 so we tried to come up with a solution and the only solution we could come up with now is to cancel it,\u201d Rosene said.<\/p>\n
David Michel, general counsel for IgadI, said the company has not withdrawn its application, and he expects the hearing to be rescheduled. A new date has not yet been determined.<\/p>\n
Prior to the postponed hearing, a number of Granby residents have already voiced their support and their opposition to the proposed dispensary.<\/p>\n
The Granby Board of Trustees also sent the county commissioners a letter expressing the board\u2019s opposition while requesting the county deny IgadI\u2019s application.<\/p>\n
The proposed dispensary is not actually within town limits, so the county has jurisdiction over the application.<\/p>\n
If approved, the store would be IgadI\u2019s second location in Grand County with the first store in Tabernash.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
