Winter Park Resort may have started its 80th season off with an early opening, but the resort isn\u2019t done celebrating.<\/p>\n
The resort is hosting a Cheers to 80 Years event at 6 p.m. Dec. 6 at Sunspot Lodge at the top of the mountain featuring live music, a dinner buffet and a newly launched Mary Jane Ale in collaboration with Upslope Brewing.<\/p>\n

\u201cBring your dancing shoes and raise your glass to eight decades of pioneering, history-making good times and great skiing,\u201d said Jen Miller, public relations and communications manager for the resort.<\/p>\n
At 80 years of operations, the celebration also marks Winter Park Resort as the longest continuously running ski resort in the state.<\/p>\n
Headlining the event is one of Colorado\u2019s best bluegrass bands, according to Denver\u2019s Westword, The Railsplitters, who will play at 7 p.m. <\/p>\n
The event is limited to 200 tickets, which are available for sale on Winter Park Resort\u2019s website. The first 100 tickets are $99 and prices increase after that.<\/p>\n
Tickets include a gondola ride, access to The Railsplitters concert, a dinner buffet at Sunspot Lodge, a commemorative pint glass and the chance to win prizes, including new skis or a GoPro.<\/p>\n
For its 80th anniversary, Alterra Mountain Co., the resort\u2019s parent company, invested $16 million in projects at Winter Park Resort, including a new high-speed six-seater lift in the Mary Jane territory.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
