Whether you’re a first-timer on the mountain or just looking for a change of scenery, Winter Park Resort\u2019s adventure concierge program hopes to help every guest optimize their mountain experience.<\/p>\n

This season, Winter Park Resort is expanding and diversifying the Adventure Concierge program, which offers guests the chance to explore the mountain with a local guide of their choosing.<\/p>\n

The service began last year with skiing, riding, snowshoeing and snowcat tours. This year, guests can also go on ski bike tours and all of the adventures are now offered at night as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be a guided experience with headlamps, so not your traditional night skiing and riding experiences,\u201d said Mark Adamczyk, director of outdoor adventure for the resort.<\/p>\n

When it comes to the origins of the Adventure Concierge program, it grew out of the popularity of the resort\u2019s information center at the Shed and is currently unique to Winter Park Resort.<\/p>\n

Taking advantage of the existing knowledge of resort employees and local enthusiasts as guides, the adventures embrace a less formal and more personal style that Adamczyk called an \u201cunlesson.\u201d<\/p>\n

This way the adventures are flexible and led by guides who know just where to look for a good snow stash, why a run is named Cranmer or Mulligan\u2019s Mile, and a number of other unique details about the resort.<\/p>\n

Booking an adventure works similarly to booking a lesson, except guests can decide which guide they want to hang out with for the duration of the adventure. Adamczyk said it is similar to Match.com for guests and guides.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe key to the whole experience is these really interesting, knowledgeable people,\u201d he said of the guides. \u201cThat connection is what brings people back.\u201d<\/p>\n

Each adventure runs 90-120 minutes on the mountain and allow guests to skip lift lines to maximize the experience.<\/p>\n

Adamczyk said they wanted to ensure the resort\u2019s offerings go beyond traditional skiing and riding by taking advantage of different ways to enjoy the mountains.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to give people something else to do rather than sit at the base while their families are out skiing,\u201d he said. \u201cThere\u2019s something for everyone here and it doesn\u2019t all have to be turbo.<\/p>\n

GUIDED SKIING OR RIDING:<\/p>\n

Guides are available in 2-6 hour increments for up to three guests of any experience level.<\/p>\n

Booking begins at 8 a.m. (before public access).<\/p>\n

$49 + $99 per hour (two hour minimum)<\/p>\n

SNOWSHOE TOURS<\/p>\n

Choose from three two-hour options for $69 during peak season and $59 during regular season. Snowshoe rentals are $29.<\/p>\n

NATURE WALK<\/p>\n

Ride up the Gemini Lift into Discovery Park for a mostly downhill tour through the forest to the base. Daily at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

SUMMIT SHOW<\/p>\n

Ride up the Gondola for a tour featuring rolling terrain and a faster pace. Daily at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

MOONLIGHT SNOWSHOE<\/p>\n

Offered Fridays and Saturdays from Dec. 27 through March 28.<\/p>\n

SNOWCAT TOURS<\/p>\n

Up to 13 people can enjoy a 90 minute tour of the Arapaho National Forest for views of Winter Park Resort, Fraser Valley, Vasquez Peak Wilderness and the Continental Divide. During peak season the tour is $89 and $79 during regular season. It also includes a Gondola ticket. Daily at 10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.<\/p>\n

SNOWCAT STARGAZING<\/p>\n

A scenic snowcat tour around Winter Park Resort up to Sunspot Mountaintop Lodge for up to 12 people. Starting Dec. 27 until March 28, tours are offered Thursdays through Saturdays from 5-7 p.m. The tour costs $99 per person.<\/p>\n

SKI BIKE TOURS:<\/p>\n

A guided three hour tour on the mountain, exploring trails and riding terrain based on the rider\u2019s ability. The tours are offered daily at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. and are only for those aged 14 and up. During peak season, tours are $69 and regular season pricing is $59. Both include lift tickets.<\/p>\n

NIGHT SKI BIKE TOURS<\/p>\n

Enjoy several runs down the mountain around the Gondola on a guided tour for $89 per person. Tours are offered starting Jan. 3 through March 30 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Each tour group can be up to 12 people.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
