Representing Team USA at the 2020 Youth Olympics in Lausanne,
\nSwitzerland, Hunter Carey of Winter Park won silver in the men\u2019s freeski halfpipe
\nevent on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Carey was one of two athletes from Winter Park selected to represent
\nTeam USA in the games. The other selection, Svea Irving, couldn\u2019t compete after
\nsuffering an ACL injury earlier in the season.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, Carey finished behind Andrew Longino of Canada
\nand ahead of Luca Harrington of New Zealand, who took bronze.<\/p>\n
According a recap provided by Team USA, Carey and his
\nteammate, Connor Ladd, competed in the finals after securing their spot following
\ntwo qualification runs.<\/p>\n
Carey opened the finals with a powerful run for 84 points,
\nputting him in second place.<\/p>\n
Then he improved upon his score in the second run with 86
\npoints to hold silver throughout the third run. Ladd finished fifth with a score
