The train had hit an animal, but it was an elk, not a cow as originally reported. Responding law enforcement officers found the injured elk and had to put the animal down.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText Subhead\">Wednesday, Jan. 22<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BriefText BoldIntro\">2:40 p.m. \u2014 A caller reported the theft of a snowmobile from a business in Grand Lake. Sheriff\u2019s deputies found the stolen sled parked outside a home and arrested a man who was seen riding around on the stolen snowmobile earlier in the day. He also had a couple active warrants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText Subhead\">Thursday, Jan. 23<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BriefText BoldIntro\">8:17 p.m. \u2014 A call came in from the Hot Sulphur Chamber of Commerce saying a vehicle was stuck on railroad tracks. A tow company was called to get the stalled vehicle off the train tracks before it was hit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText Subhead\">Saturday, Jan. 25<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BriefText BoldIntro\">6:51 a.m. \u2014 Dispatchers took a call about a car wreck. It was the first of six calls regarding traffic accidents on the same day. The last crash was reported at 11:51 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BriefText BoldIntro\">11:37 p.m. \u2014 A deputy noticed a motorist going slowly without his headlights on. After authorities stopped the driver just outside Tabernash, they discovered the man\u2019s car, an electric vehicle, was running low on power.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BriefText BoldIntro\">These are a small number of the calls fielded by Grand County\u2019s dispatchers, first-responders and law enforcement agencies. <\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BriefText BoldIntro\"><em>The police blotter was put together by the Sky-Hi News in conjunction with the Grand County Sheriff\u2019s Office.
