{"id":41950,"date":"2020-02-16T15:09:21","date_gmt":"2020-02-16T22:09:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.skyhinews.com\/?p=63227"},"modified":"2020-02-16T15:09:21","modified_gmt":"2020-02-16T22:09:21","slug":"granby-pd-offering-free-firearm-safety-kits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kift\/community\/granby-pd-offering-free-firearm-safety-kits\/","title":{"rendered":"Granby PD offering free firearm safety kits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Granby Police Department has partnered with Project Childsafe to offer the community free firearm safety kits and promote firearm safety education.<\/p>\n<p>Project Childsafe, a program by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, partners with law enforcement agencies to promote firearm safety materials.<\/p>\n<p>Each safety kit includes a gun lock and educational materials, which anyone can pick up from the Granby Police Department between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday-Friday. The gun lock fits most handguns, shotguns and rifles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe encourage residents to pick up a Project ChildSafe safety kit so that they can securely store their firearm,\u201d said Sgt. Amy Ryan-Williams of Granby PD. \u201cThe goal is to prevent a child or any other unauthorized person from accessing a firearm in your home.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>So far, Project Childsafe has distributed over 38 million firearm safety kits in all 50 states and five U.S. territories.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Granby Police Department has partnered with Project Childsafe to offer the community free firearm safety kits and promote firearm safety education.
