The Grand County District Attorney\u2019s Office is seeking
\napplications from Grand County nonprofits that want to receive court ordered
\ncharity contributions.<\/p>\n
The DA\u2019s office sometimes requires a defendant to make a charitable contribution in lieu of court or statutory fines as part of a plea bargain. The contributions to local nonprofits allow the defendant to give back directly to the community.<\/p>\n
Grand County nonprofits can submit a request to be
\nconsidered as an eligible recipient of these charitable donations. Applications
\nwill be reviewed by the DA\u2019s office and appropriate recipients will be added to
\nthe list of eligible organizations.<\/p>\n
Applications must be from secular, nonprofit charitable
\norganizations that work in Grand County. In order to ensure the funds are
\ndirected to organizations in genuine need, the DA will not approve nonprofits
\nwith pre-existing robust financial resources.<\/p>\n
Applications should provide information about the organization, the good it does for Grand County and describe its current source of funding.
