There has been some encouraging news about the possibility. Let\u2019s hope that we get positive news soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Henceroth continued to write that if the ski area reopens after being shutdown since mid-March due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, all guests will need to have \u201crealistic expectations,\u201d as a potential re-opening \u201cwill be different from anything you have ever experienced at Arapahoe Basin.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo stay open we will need the help, support and cooperation of every single guest. We are all in this together,\u201d Henceroth wrote.<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\" readability=\"6\">\n<div class=\"row sd-donation sd-donation-mobile p-0\" readability=\"7\">\n<div class=\"col-xl-4 p-2\">\n<div data-bg=\"url(https:\/\/cdn.summitdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/03\/SDN-logo-white-1.png)\" class=\"p-0 mt-2 mb-2 h-75 text-center rocket-lazyload\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.summitdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/03\/SDN-logo-white-1.png\" class=\"logo m-0 p-0 invisible\"><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><h3 class=\"d-inline mr-3\">Support Local Journalism<\/h3>\n<p><button class=\"btn d-inline\" type=\"button\" onclick=\"handleDonationButtonClickMidArticle()\">Donate<\/button><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>As for rules amid COVID-19, Henceroth said guests should expect skier numbers will be limited and reservations will be required.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDO NOT SHOW UP WITHOUT A RESERVATION,\u201d Henceroth wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Henceroth said the ski area will sell a very small number of lift tickets as the vast majority of the available space will be for pass holders. He added not everyone will get the chance to ski every day.<\/p>\n<p>The COO also said tailgating and social gatherings will be prohibited. A-Basin is known for its fabled \u201cBeach\u201d tailgating scene where the ski area\u2019s main parking lot meets the melting spring snow by the base area lifts, especially in spring.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can party next season,\u201d Henceroth wrote. \u201cThe re-opening is all about giving people a chance to ski and ride.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Henceroth also said physical distancing will be \u201cstrictly enforced.\u201d This will include a requirement to wear a face mask in the base area, in the lift line, in restrooms and other places. He added if the ski area gets the chance to reopen, responsible behavior and conduct will be necessary \u201cto continue to stay open.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=2ahUKEwislLeqw8jpAhVEpZ4KHVUYD0cQFjABegQIARAB&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.summitdaily.com%2Fnews%2Fgov-jared-polis-extends-statewide-ski-area-closure-through-may-22%2F&amp;usg=AOvVaw18k5r6titiqflgFSfcYtc1\">extended the state-mandated of closures of all ski areas in the state<\/a> through the end of this coming Saturday. Subsequently, county officials have said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/news\/breckenridge-will-not-reopen-for-spring-skiing-a-basin-makes-plans-to-reopen-with-state-permission\/\">the earliest a ski area in the county could reopen<\/a> \u2013 if and when they and the state provide approval for reopen \u2013 would be Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The governor\u2019s office has said an announcement about the fate of spring skiing will be made Monday, May 25.
