(AP) \u2014 Travelers in Grand Junction soon will be able to fly directly to Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gjsentinel.com\/news\/western_colorado\/gj-lands-direct-flight-to-chicago\/article_36a4ad0e-0416-11e9-b6b8-10604b9f7e7c.html\">reports<\/a>\u00a0United Airlines announced Wednesday that it will start a seasonal flight between Grand Junction Regional Airport and Chicago O&#8217;Hare International Airport in June.<\/p>\n<p>The flights will run on Saturdays from June 8 through Oct. 26. Tickets for some of the flights are already on sale.<\/p>\n<p>United will fly a 70-seat Canadair RJ-700 between the two locations.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement comes on the heels of a Grand Junction voter-approved lodging tax increase that goes into effect Jan. 1 and will allow the Grand Junction Regional Air Service Alliance to offer incentives to airlines to start new flights in and out of Grand Junction.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.postindependent.com\/news\/united-announces-grand-junction-chicago-direct-flight\/\" target=\"_blank\">via:: Post Independent<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.
