{"id":1383165,"date":"2018-12-26T18:53:31","date_gmt":"2018-12-27T01:53:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.postindependent.com\/?p=959351"},"modified":"2018-12-26T18:53:31","modified_gmt":"2018-12-27T01:53:31","slug":"aspen-police-release-video-with-image-of-jewelry-heist-suspects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kkch\/local-news\/aspen-police-release-video-with-image-of-jewelry-heist-suspects\/","title":{"rendered":"Aspen police release video with image of jewelry heist suspects"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"266\" height=\"325\" src=\"https:\/\/www.postindependent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/jewelry-atd-122718-266x325.jpg\" class=\"attachment-medium-large size-medium-large wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.postindependent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/jewelry-atd-122718-266x325.jpg 266w, https:\/\/www.postindependent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/jewelry-atd-122718-266x325-123x150.jpg 123w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 266px) 100vw, 266px\" \/><\/figure>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">The Aspen Police Department released images and video surveillance of the three men suspected of stealing jewelry valued at $800,000 from The Little Nell hotel on Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">The security video of the three suspects shows them all with facial hair, but the still images &#8220;show they may have shaved to alter their appearances,&#8221; according to a press release from the Aspen Police Department.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Assistant Police Chief Bill Linn said the still images &#8220;were taken after the crime, and I don&#8217;t want to give more information because we have an ongoing investigation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Linn said it&#8217;s unlikely the suspects are in Aspen.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div style=\"position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; overflow: hidden;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"position: absolute;\" src=\"https:\/\/content.jwplatform.com\/players\/xS8e6puj-Nu59a9ux.html\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"auto\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;I think it&#8217;s reasonable to say we believe they left the area,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Authorities were alerted at approximately 1:17 p.m. Friday of the heist, the result of a picked lock that accessed the jewelry case that Piranesi Jewelry has rented from The Little Nell for 20 years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Taken were diamond and gold jewelry, police said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There officers learned that three male suspects had opened a locked glass display case and had taken numerous jewelry items from within before fleeing,&#8221; the press release said. &#8220;The stolen items were of very high value.
