Glenwood one-upped itself in the second quarter, exploding for 28 points, putting the Demons in cruise control on the road. <\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">In the second quarter, Worline hit two 3-pointers, giving her three on the night, while Hadley Yellico splashed home two of her own 3-pointers, leading Glenwood to a season-high six three-pointers in the game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Glenwood added 17 third-quarter points before going scoreless in the fourth on the way to the 64-11 win. <\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Worline led the Demons with 18 points, while fellow senior Ximena Gutierrez added 14 points. Kate Shanahan chipped in with eight points off the bench, while Qwynn Massie added eight points of her own. Yellico added six points on her pair of 3-pointers, while Graci Dietrich and Logan Nieslanik added four points. <\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Glenwood Springs (4-7, 1-0 4A WSL) host the rival Rifle Bears Friday night at 6 p.m. inside Chavez-Spencer Gymnasium.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText Subhead\">BOYS BASKETBALL<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BriefText HeadSmall\">Glenwood Springs 67, Summit 41<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Fresh off of a 15-point win at home over Grand Junction Saturday, the Glenwood Springs Demons boys basketball team made the trip to Summit Tuesday evening and easily dispatched the Tigers in the 4A Western Slope League opener, downing Summit 67-41.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Much like the Glenwood girls, the boys raced out to a fast start, scoring 21 first quarter points to put the Tigers away early, taking a 21-8 lead after one quarter of play. <\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Senior guard Chano Gonzalez scored nine first-quarter points, hitting three buckets and a 3-pointer to pace the Demons, while senior guard Angel Garcia added seven first-quarter points. <\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">It was a sign of things to come for both guards as Gonzalez finished with a game-high 21 points in the win, while Garcia added 13 points. <\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Along with the two standout senior guards, senior guard Wyatt Ewer added 14 points off the bench in the Demons&#8217; 26-point win, hitting four 3-pointers. Junior Mitchell Burt chipped in with seven points off the bench, while senior guard Erwin Rodriguez added five points off the bench. <\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Senior guard Wyatt Buller led the Summit Tigers with 17 points.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Glenwood (7-4, 1-0 4A WSL) hosts the rival Rifle Bears at 7 p.m. Friday night.
