(AP) \u2014 Cleanup efforts are underway following two recent leaks from oil and gas facilities in western Colorado.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Sentinel\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gjsentinel.com\/breaking\/leaks-reach-garfield-surface-waters\/article_5a3a03fc-1f48-11e9-a990-47447c5f5546.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reports<\/a>\u00a0a buried natural gas gathering line owned by Bargath, a subsidiary of the energy company Williams, ruptured last week north of Parachute.<\/p>\n<p>Williams says its surface water monitoring results indicate it has stopped contaminants from continuing to reach Parachute Creek.<\/p>\n<p>Reports from the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission indicate an unknown amount of produced water containing benzene and other contaminants leaked form a Caerus Oil and Gas pipeline facility earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p>According to the reports, the leak occurred in area along the Colorado River southwest of Parachute.<\/p>\n<p>The commission says it has environmental staff on the ground overseeing cleanup efforts and response.<\/p>\n<p>___<\/p>\n<p>Information from: The Daily Sentinel,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gjsentinel.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/www.gjsentinel.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.postindependent.com\/news\/cleanup-efforts-underway-after-recent-leaks-from-oil-and-gas-facilities-in-western-colorado\/\" target=\"_blank\">via:: Post Independent<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.
