The song is a cover of&nbsp;<strong>Steve Winwood<\/strong>&#8216;s 1986 hit, &#8220;Higher Love,&#8221; newly remixed by&nbsp;<strong>Kygo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Clive Davis<\/strong>, who first signed the songstress to Arista Records, teased the release on social media Thursday. According to a video the legendary music executive shared, Houston performed a cover of the song back in 1990 during her Feels So Right Tour in Japan and re-recorded the song a year later. Though, according to Davis, it had been intended for her third studio album, <em>I&#8217;m Your Baby Tonight<\/em>, Houston&#8217;s version was never officially released save for as a Japan-only bonus track on the album.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-2\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"54.205607476636\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"9.0342679127726\">\n<p>&#8220;When [producer] Narada Michael Walden sent me \u2018Higher Love&#8217; with the Whitney vocal, we didn&#8217;t want her being a cover artist at that time,&#8221; Davis explained to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/whitney-houston-kygo-higher-love-850660\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rolling Stone<\/a><\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Now, nearly 30 years later\u2014and seven years since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/293564\/whitney-houston-dead-at-48\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">her untimely death<\/a>\u2014the song is officially out for everyone to hear, with a&nbsp;Kygo<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>twist.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-4\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"59.671232876712\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"10.849315068493\">\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m incredibly honored to have been able to work on this amazing vocal from one of the most legendary artists of all time!&#8221; the famed DJ and record producer wrote on social media. &#8220;Hope you guys love it as much as I do.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And, with a possible touring hologram and album of unreleased music in discussion for the superstar&#8217;s estate, which&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/05\/20\/business\/media\/whitney-houston-hologram-album.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">signed<\/a> with&nbsp;Primary Wave Music Publishing recently, we&#8217;ll be hearing a lot more of Whitney soon.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-6\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"62.5\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"15\">\n<p>&#8220;The Estate of Whitney E.
