{"id":1419443,"date":"2020-04-01T18:07:50","date_gmt":"2020-04-02T00:07:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.postindependent.com\/?p=995229"},"modified":"2020-04-01T18:07:50","modified_gmt":"2020-04-02T00:07:50","slug":"carbondale-calls-for-volunteers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kkch\/local-news\/carbondale-calls-for-volunteers\/","title":{"rendered":"Carbondale calls for volunteers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Carbondale Emergency Task Force is looking for<br \/>\nvolunteers to help out with the community\u2019s work supporting seniors and others<br \/>\nwho have to quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The task force wants volunteers who can deliver meals to at-risk individuals and the elderly, through either the Carbondale Recreation Center or Valley Meals and More, a nonprofit partner.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, Valley Meals delivers 27 meals on Tuesdays and<br \/>\nThursdays in Carbondale, but with more people stuck in quarantine, they expect<br \/>\ndemand to increase.<\/p>\n<p>Other volunteers could help by making care calls to check in<br \/>\nwith high-risk individuals over the phone. <\/p>\n<p>The Carbondale Rec Center is providing a number of services<br \/>\nto those in quarantine, including assistance obtaining medications, dog walking,<br \/>\nmeal delivery from restaurants with takeout, and emotional support.<\/p>\n<p>Those in need should call the Rec Center\u2019s hotline at 970-510-1292.<\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\ntask force also is looking for volunteers who can contribute their expertise in<br \/>\nareas of health, economy, strategic communications,<br \/>\nhuman capital, finance, technology, advocacy, and crisis response.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.postindependent.com\/news\/carbondale-calls-for-volunteers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via:: Post Independent<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Carbondale Emergency Task Force is looking for volunteers to help out with the community\u2019s work supporting seniors and others who have to quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic.
