After losing three straight 4A Western Slope league games to begin the month, the Summit High School girls volleyball team is now red hot.
Summit was shutout by Eagle Valley High School at home on Sept. 12, and since then has recorded big league wins against Steamboat Springs and Battle Mountain, as well as a non-league win over Rifle.
Summit defeated Steamboat Springs, three sets to one on the road on Saturday, Sept. 16, before the team traveled to Edwards to take on Battle Mountain on Tuesday, Sept. 19. There, the Tigers also recorded a win in four sets.
On Thursday, Sept. 21, Summit hosted Rifle in Breckenridge for the team’s homecoming match. The Tigers dominated from the opening set and shutout Rifle in three sets.
Summit is now 7-6 overall and 2-3 in league play. The Tigers will now prepare for a rematch against Glenwood Springs High School on Thursday, Sept. 28, in Breckenridge. Summit was defeated by Glenwood Springs in four set on Sept. 7.
The game is slated for 6:30 p.m. at Summit High School.
