Multiple women recount the sexual, mental and physical abuse R. Kelly<\/a> forced them to endure in this exclusive clip from the upcoming Lifetime docuseries<\/a> Surviving R. Kelly<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt like my silence allowed it to continue,\u201d Kitti Jones, who shared her story with Rolling Stone<\/em> for an article titled \u201cSurviving R. Kelly,<\/a>\u201d says in the docuseries. \u201cA part of me always felt like I did something for him to treat me that way, but when I found it wasn\u2019t just me, and it kept going and going and going, it just made me furious.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked to describe the abuse she encountered, Jerhonda Pace \u2013 who first detailed her harrowing experience<\/a> with Kelly in a 2017 Buzzfeed article \u2013 begins sobbing on camera. \u201cI think I can\u2019t really talk about being abused,\u201d Pace says. \u201cIt brings back memories; it\u2019s very painful to have to talk about it again.\u201d<\/p>\n

The six-hour, three-part\u00a0Surviving R. Kelly<\/em> premieres January 3rd on Lifetime and continues January 4th and 5th. On December 4th, a planned screening of an excerpt from the docuseries at a New York theater was canceled<\/a> after a gun threat was called in; Kelly\u2019s ex-wife Drea Kelly told Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> she believes the R&B singer was somehow involved in the threat.<\/p>\n

Brown told Rolling Stone<\/em> after the screening was evacuated, \u201cThis just speaks to how much power there is in numbers that someone felt the need to threaten this event. But we won\u2019t be intimidated or silenced and we hope this brings even more attention to the legitimacy of our stories and how important this documentary is to the movement.\u201d<\/p>\n
