Two nights before Christmas Eve, Thom Yorke<\/a> got into the holiday spirit Saturday by delivering an unexpected rendition of \u201cSilent Night\u201d during the singer\u2019s concert at Las Vegas\u2019 The Chelsea.<\/p>\n

For his version \u2013 which begins at the 45-second mark of the above video \u2013 Yorke used the music of Radiohead\u2019s \u201cReckoner\u201d as foundation for the minute-long take on the yuletide classic. After singing a verse and chorus of \u201cSilent Night,\u201d Yorke and his band smoothly segued into the In Rainbows<\/em> standout.<\/p>\n

The Las Vegas concert marked Yorke\u2019s final scheduled performance of 2018, a year that saw the release of the Radiohead singer\u2019s first feature film score Suspiria<\/em><\/a>; that album\u2019s \u201cSuspirium\u201d was recently named to a 15-song shortlist<\/a> for the Academy Awards\u2019 Best Original Song Oscar. Radiohead were also named as one of the 2019 inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Yorke\u2019s solo tour also featured a surprise reunion by the supergroup Atoms for Peace<\/a>, featuring Red Hot Chili Peppers\u2019 Flea on bass, during a pair of Los Angeles gigs earlier this week. The singer, who is also reportedly working on a \u201cpolitical\u201d solo album<\/a>, will return to the road for the European music festival circuit in summer 2019.<\/p>\n
