John Legend<\/a>, who appears in Lifetime\u2019s Surviving<\/em><\/a> R. Kelly<\/a> docuseries, blasted R. Kelly during his interview in the final episode, which airs on Saturday. \u201cR. Kelly has brought so much pain to so many people,\u201d the musician said. \u201c#TimesUp for R. Kelly.\u201d Legend is the only major artist to appear in the series.<\/p>\n

Following the airing of the first two episodes on Thursday, Legend took to Twitter to expound on why he chose to participate. \u201cTo everyone telling me how courageous I am for appearing in the doc, it didn\u2019t feel risky at all,\u201d he tweeted<\/a>. \u201cI believe these women and don\u2019t give a fuck about protecting a serial child rapist. Easy decision.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Legend also gave props to documentarian and series producer Dream Hampton for her work. \u201cWe should all thank my friend @dreamhampton for her very necessary work to create #SurvivingRKelly,\u201d he tweeted<\/a>. \u201cThese survivors deserved to be lifted up and heard. I hope it gets them closer to some kind of justice.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

A representative for Kelly declined to comment on Legend\u2019s tweets to Rolling Stone<\/em>.<\/em><\/p>\n

In April, Legend shared his support of the #MuteRKelly movement, which was further spurred on by Women of Color of Time\u2019s Up in an open letter that called on the music industry to cut ties with Kelly. \u201cI stand with the women of #timesup #muterkelly,\u201d he tweeted<\/a> at the time while sharing the open letter.<\/p>\n

The remaining episodes air Friday and Saturday at 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime.<\/p>\n
