Slipknot<\/strong>\u00a0frontman Corey Taylor has revealed a deep love of jazz music, and a desire to release a “dark jazz album”\u00a0<\/em>in the future.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The comments around his love of jazz were made during an interview with RadioVegas.Rocks<\/a> in answer to a question about his desire to experiment with other musical genres in the future.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve actually been thinking about\u2026 putting together a quartet or a quintet and doing a jazz album, like a dark jazz album and recording it in a room.”<\/em><\/p>\n

He continued \u201cIt won\u2019t sell shit. It would really just be for my own personal collection. I love jazz. A lot of people don\u2019t realise that. I listen to a lot of forties and fifties jazz.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Proving his passion for jazz, the Slipknot frontman then went on to discuss some of the jazz that he’s been particularly into over the years, which could help shape the direction of any future jazz project, sharing \u201cThere\u2019s this haunting stuff that Billie Holiday<\/strong> would do, the older stuff that Charlie Parker<\/strong> would do when he was really fucked up \u2013 that would be the stuff that I would be closer to.”<\/em><\/p>\n

And it turns out this isn’t just a random thought- he’s already got some ideas \u201cI\u2019ve got jazzy versions of some of my own songs that I would love to try. Probably something like \u2018Prosthetics\u2019 I think would be really cool. And then \u2018Bother\u2019. I\u2019ve got a really cool jazzy version of \u2018Bother\u2019 that could be really cool.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
