Before Dead & Company embark on their 2019 summer tour<\/a>, Bob Weir<\/a> and Wolf Bros \u2013 the Grateful Dead<\/a> guitarist\u2019s outfit with bassist Don Was and Ratdog drummer Jay Lane \u2013 will hit the road for a spring jaunt.<\/p>\n

The trio launched their maiden trek in 2018<\/a> with a setlist stocked with Grateful Dead songs. \u201cThis is more fun than a frog in a glass of milk,\u201d Weir said of touring with Wolf Bros in a statement. \u201cDon is all over his upright, and Jay needs to somehow be kept in line at times, but it\u2019s all falling together nicely.\u201d<\/p>\n

The spring tour begins February 28th at Ithaca, New York\u2019s State Theatre and runs through March 30th in Charleston, South Carolina. The trio has also booked a May 3rd slot at Redondo Beach, California\u2019s Beachlife Festival.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor a while now I\u2019ve been itchin\u2019 to explore our songs in a trio setting. An upright bass, my acoustic or electric guitar and a drummer,\u201d Weir said of the outfit in August 2018. \u201cWe did some rehearsals this past spring and it was big fun\u2014and that\u2019s the whole idea. We were kickin\u2019 around Dead songs as well as tunes from my back pages. I\u2019m pretty sure we\u2019re gonna have a big adventure with this.\u201d<\/p>\n
