{"id":480892,"date":"2019-01-15T06:57:50","date_gmt":"2019-01-15T13:57:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=779079"},"modified":"2019-01-15T06:57:50","modified_gmt":"2019-01-15T13:57:50","slug":"the-cranberries-announce-final-album-with-dolores-oriordan-in-the-end","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kqzr\/music-news\/the-cranberries-announce-final-album-with-dolores-oriordan-in-the-end\/","title":{"rendered":"The Cranberries Announce Final Album With Dolores O\u2019Riordan, \u2018In the End\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/shutterstock_1204084g.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"\/><\/div>\n<p>One year after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/dolores-oriordan-the-cranberries-singer-dead-at-46-253547\/\">the death of Cranberries singer Dolores O\u2019Riordan<\/a>, her band mates have announced their final album <em>In the End<\/em>, a collection of songs O\u2019Riordan worked on prior to her January 15th, 2018 death. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/the-cranberries\/\">The Cranberries<\/a> also shared <em>In the End<\/em>\u2018s first single, the catchy \u201cAll Over Now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t think of a more fitting way to commemorate the first anniversary of Dolores\u2019 passing and to celebrate her life than to announce to the world the release of her final album with the band,\u201d Eileen O\u2019Riordan, Dolores\u2019 mother, said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI miss her awfully, specially today, as does the entire family. She was very excited about this new album and was really looking forward to its release. I have no doubt that she is happy now and would be delighted with today\u2019s announcement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gSC2upiyRlQ?version=3&amp;enablejsapi=1&amp;origin=https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com&amp;rel=1&amp;fs=1&amp;autohide=2&amp;showsearch=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;iv_load_policy=1&amp;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Riordan and band mate Noel Hogan began working the songs that would ultimately appear on In the End while touring in May 2017, with the duo writing and demoing 11 songs that winter. \u201cDolores was so energized by the prospect of making this record and to getting back out on the road to play the songs live,\u201d Hogan said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>However, before the Cranberries could play the demoes for their record label BMG, O\u2019Riordan died in a London hotel room following a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/thousands-gather-for-dolores-oriordan-memorial-in-ireland-126109\/\">tragic accident<\/a>.\u201d Following months of mourning, her Cranberries band mates listened back to O\u2019Riordan\u2019s vocals for the album and, after receiving the full support of O\u2019Riordan\u2019s family, enlisted producer Stephen Street \u2013 who worked on four Cranberries album, including their breakout <em>Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can\u2019t We?<\/em> \u2013 to help complete the album.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe knew this had to be one of the, if not the, best Cranberries album that we could possibly do,\u201d Hogan added. \u201cThe worry was that we would destroy the legacy of the band by making an album that wasn\u2019t up to standard. Once we had gone through all the demos that Dolores and I had worked on and decided that we had such a strong album we knew it would be the right thing and the best way that we could honor Dolores.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>In the End<\/em>, available to <a href=\"https:\/\/cranberries.lnk.to\/InTheEndPR\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">preorder now<\/a>, arrives April 26th via BMG. The album\u2019s cover boasts an image by the band\u2019s original photographer Andy Earl and sleeve designer Cally Calloman.
