Green Day<\/strong>\u00a0are selling off over 100 items of their old gear on Reverb.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The sale launches on February 07,\u00a0you\u2019ll be able to buy a guitar used on ‘Dookie’, speaker cabinets still marked from the mud-fight at Woodstock \u201894, drum kits that have toured the world (and some remnants that have been set ablaze), vintage bass amps, and recording gear.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery guitar has its own character,\u201d<\/em> Billie Joe Armstrong has shared \u201cEach one reflects who you are \u2013 the kind of songwriter you are, the kind of guitar player that you are. Used guitars, in particular, come with a history to them. I love the character you can see looking at a fretboard that\u2019s been used. After 30 years of collecting odds and ends and really good stuff, I have to sell some of it\u00a0off.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

“If you hoard the right shit long enough, they call you a collector. So I\u2019m selling off just a wee bit of the collection. I\u2019m not doing it any justice sitting around when someone could be using this stuff. I haven\u2019t really sold anything ever\u2014this is the first time,”<\/em> shared drummer Tre Cool. “I”m probably just going to buy all this stuff back at like three in the morning, because I\u2019m going to have a hard time parting with it.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Bassist Mike Dirnt is also parting with over 20 pieces of studio gear and nearly a dozen amps, including a Mesa\/Boogie Basis M-2000 he used from 1997 to 2003, primarily on the tours to support ‘Nimrod’ and ‘Warning’. He\u2019s also selling a vintage Ampeg SVT, SVTII Pros, and SVT Vacuum Tube DIs, as well as more gear from his personal studio.<\/p>\n
