The track will appear on his forthcoming album<\/span> <em><span>Nosso<\/span><\/em><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cHear From You\u201d is a country-hopping hybrid: Sango, an American beat-maker known for placements on albums from Tinashe, Bryson Tiller and Smino, is a co-producer, and Cosima, a singer based in London, is responsible for some of the vocals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Branko and Sango stitch together syncopated hand-claps, jabbing synths, darting bass and a squeaky, squiggly hook that races ahead of the drums. There is loneliness and frustration here \u2014 \u201cI just wanna hear from you\/Ask me questions;\u201d \u201cDon\u2019t be polite, I want it all\u201d \u2014 but the angst is smoothed over by the pretty, driving beat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Branko and Sango initially connected through their mutual love of Brazilian music.<\/span> <span>Branko routinely works with genres from around the Portuguese-speaking world;\u00a0Sango has released three albums in a series titled <em>Da Rocinha<\/em> that is inspired by tunes from Brazil.\u00a0<\/span><span>\u201cWe\u2019ve got a lot of mutual friends in S\u00e3o Paolo,\u201d Branko explains. \u201cSango visited Lisbon a couple times, one time for a stage I was curating at a festival. We\u2019ve just been exchanging music and words ever since. At one point, he sent me an original idea \u2014 we\u2019d been talking about doing something for ages, but sometimes you need that initial click. When he sent me this idea I said, \u2018ok, I think this is the one.&#8217;\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>For Branko, \u201cHear From You\u201d \u201cexplains a lot of things\u201d about<\/span> <em><span>Nosso<\/span><\/em><span>. \u201cEven if I\u2019m recording with a Congolese-Canadian vocalist, I used the sound of Lisbon as the starting point for all the songs on the album,\u201d he says. \u201cThat\u2019s through the instrumentals and beats: Every one of those is originally from a genre in the Portuguese-speaking universe.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span>Nosso<\/span><\/em> <span>is out March 1.
