Vampire Weekend<\/a> unveiled their first new songs in nearly six years, \u201cHarmony Hall\u201d and \u201c2021,\u201d which will appear on their forthcoming album<\/a>, Father of the Bride<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHarmony Hall\u201d is a swooning tune packed with kind vibes that opens with a tumbling acoustic guitar lick before settling into a groove reminiscent of the Grateful Dead. \u201cAnd the stone walls of Harmony Hall bear witness,\u201d frontman Ezra Koenig sings, \u201cAnybody with a holy mind can never forgive the sight\/ Of wicked snakes inside a place you thought was dignified\/ I don\u2019t wanna live like this, but I don\u2019t wanna die.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c2021,\u201d meanwhile, is a short, stripped-down song that\u2019s centered around a sample of a song acclaimed Japanese musician Haruomi Hosono wrote to be played in Muji stores in the Eighties. As a steely guitar intertwines with the soft pulse of a synth, Koenig sings, \u201c2021, will you think about me?\/ I could wait a year but I couldn\u2019t wait three.\u201d<\/p>\n
