After weeks of Top 10 inactivity and record-low album sales in the top spot<\/a> of the Billboard 200, Future<\/a> ended the charts<\/a> malaise as the rapper\u2019s latest The Wizrd<\/em><\/a> opened at Number One.<\/p>\n

The Wizrd<\/em> sold 126,000 total copies in its first week of release to give Future his sixth Number One album in a little over three years; 2015\u2019s DS2<\/em> and What a Time to Be Alive<\/em>, 2016\u2019s Evol<\/em>\u00a0and 2017\u2019s Future<\/em> and HNDRXX<\/em>\u00a0previously topped the album charts, Billboard<\/em> reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, Future wasn\u2019t the album-selling remedy the Billboard 200 desperately needed as The Wizrd<\/em>\u00a0only sold 15,000 traditional copies. While it\u2019s a vast improvement over the 823 traditional copies a Boogie Wit Da Hoodie\u2019s Hoodie SZN<\/em> sold on its way to Number One<\/a>, it\u2019s still a far cry from the platinum weeks of yore.<\/p>\n

Two more new releases impacted the Top 10 this week: Maggie Rogers<\/a>\u2019 much-anticipated first album Heard It In a Past Life<\/em><\/a> debuted at Number Two with 49,000 total copies but 37,000 traditional copies, more than double\u00a0The Wizrd<\/em>\u2018s total. Country singer Cody Johnson\u2019s Ain\u2019t Nothin\u2019 to It<\/em> bowed at Number Nine.<\/p>\n

The rest of the Top 10 were returnees, including the two-time Number One Hoodie SZN<\/em> dropping to Number Three after two modestly selling weeks atop the Billboard 200. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse<\/em> and 21 Savage\u2019s I Am > I Was<\/em> slotted Number Four and Five respectively, followed by Meek Mill\u2019s Championships<\/em> (Number Six), Post Malone\u2019s Beerbongs & Bentleys<\/em> (Number Seven) and A Star Is Born<\/em> (Number Eight). Travis Scott\u2019s Astroworld<\/em> closed out the upper tier at Number 10.<\/p>\n

New releases that could shake up next week\u2019s Billboard 200 include the Backstreet Boys\u2019 DNA<\/em> and Weezer\u2019s surprise teal-colored covers album<\/a>.<\/p>\n
