Electronic duo Snakehips enlisted Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo<\/a> and California rapper Kyle for their breezy new single \u201cGucci Rock N Rolla.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout the track, Cuomo sings about being a rebellious teenager and staying young forever. \u201cI\u2019m not cool, fucked up on my school days\/I skip class, drop-out since the seventh grade\/Those fools looking at me sideways\/No clue I could get it my way,\u201d he belts over a tightly coiled bass groove that recalls the muted thump of Foster the People\u2019s \u201cPumped Up Kicks.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kyle pops up for a brief verse that shouts out Jay Z, Rick Rubin and \u201ccruising\u201d in a self-driving Tesla. He<\/span>\u00a0also appear in the song\u2019s playful video, set in a high school band room. In the clip, a trombone player passes out and slips into a fantasy that climaxes with a live performance alongside Snakehips.<\/span><\/p>\n

The duo spoke about their collaborative track in a statement, calling themselves \u201chuge Weezer fans.\u201d \u201cIt was just crazy that someone we respect so much was really into our vibe,\u201d they said of Cuomo.<\/span><\/p>\n

Weezer issued their surprised covers LP, The Teal Album<\/em><\/a>, in January, and their next record of original material, The Black Album<\/em><\/a>, is out March 1st. KYLE released his debut record, Light of Mine<\/em>, in 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n
