In his wake, numerous would-be usurpers tried to climb his gilded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/pop\/\" id=\"auto-tag_pop\" data-tag=\"pop\">pop<\/a> throne and (mostly) failed. Fortunately, for his well being and unfortunately for his faithful acolytes, he seems to be enjoying wedded bliss and isn\u2019t in a rush to return to the studio. In a new cover story for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/article\/justin-bieber-hailey-bieber-cover-interview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><em>Vogue<\/em><\/a>, Justin described his prolonged absence from the music industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust thinking about music stresses me out,\u201d Bieber explained. \u201cI\u2019ve been successful since I was thirteen, so I didn\u2019t really have a chance to find who I was apart from what I did. I just needed some time to evaluate myself: who I am, what I want out of my life, my relationships, who I want to be\u2014stuff that when you\u2019re so immersed in the music business you kind of lose sight of.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Later in the interview, Bieber shared how his early career shaped his need to distance himself from the pop machine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was real at first and then I was manufactured as, slowly, they just took more and more control,\u201d he continued. \u201cI started really feeling myself too much. People love me, I\u2019m the shit\u2014that\u2019s honestly what I thought. I got very arrogant and cocky.
