It\u2019s been nearly a year since Diplo<\/a> released his last\u00a0EP,\u00a0California,\u00a0<\/em>but that\u2019s not to say\u00a0the super-producer hasn\u2019t kept himself busy. He started co-hosting the SiriusXM radio show \u201cDiplo\u2019s Revolution\u201d with fellow DJ Dillon Francis and Major Lazer bandmates Jillionaire and Walshy Fire. He also toured\u00a0<\/a>Africa (with Major Lazer), collaborating with local musicians along the way for a mixtape<\/a> that incorporated Afropop and dance music.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, Diplo is\u00a0paying\u00a0homage to a different part of the world.\u00a0His forthcoming EP,\u00a0Europa,<\/em> will\u00a0feature European artists and club sounds inspired by his extensive time creating and performing in the continent. He teased the EP by releasing a single called\u00a0\u201cBoom Boom Bye,\u201d<\/a>\u00a0a Francophone dance-trap song featuring French rapper Niska.<\/span><\/p>\n

Diplo has now shared the second peek at the forthcoming EP, a new single<\/span>\u00a0called \u201cNew Shapes.\u201d The dreamy song features French-British rapper Octavian, who recently won the BBC Sound of 2019 title, beating out artists\u00a0Ella Mai<\/a> and Rosal\u00eda<\/a>. The fresh track pairs Octavian\u2019s brooding vocals with a heavy trap groove provided by Diplo.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u00a0met Octavian at a party in London,\u201d Diplo said in a statement. \u201cWe took a photo and I never thought I would see the kid again. Over the next six months I kept hearing his name and seeing him on great songs\u2026 Finally, he was stuck in L.A. for a while and it was easy to pull up on him. After a few weeks we nailed this song and I\u2019m glad it gets to finally see the light of day.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Europa<\/em>, Diplo\u2019s forthcoming EP, will be available everywhere on February 22nd. \u201cNew Shapes\u201d is out now on all streaming platforms. An accompanying lyric video<\/a> for the track is on Youtube.<\/span><\/p>\n
