{"id":482012,"date":"2019-02-09T08:11:00","date_gmt":"2019-02-09T15:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rocksound.tv\/news\/read\/gerard-way-my-chemical-romance-reunion-i-dont-think-so"},"modified":"2019-02-09T08:11:00","modified_gmt":"2019-02-09T15:11:00","slug":"gerard-way-on-the-possibility-of-a-my-chemical-romance-reunion-happening-i-dont-think-so","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kqzr\/music-news\/gerard-way-on-the-possibility-of-a-my-chemical-romance-reunion-happening-i-dont-think-so\/","title":{"rendered":"Gerard Way On The Possibility Of A My Chemical Romance Reunion Happening: \u201cI Don\u2019t Think So\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"excerpt\" readability=\"7\">\n<p><em>&#8220;It wasn&#8217;t fun anymore&#8221;<\/em> &#8211; My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rocksound.tv\/assets\/uploads\/mcr2006.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>In a brand new interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/music\/2019\/feb\/09\/gerard-way-on-the-end-of-my-chemical-romance-it-wasnt-fun-any-more\">The Guardian<\/a>, former\u00a0<strong>My Chemical Romance<\/strong>\u00a0frontman\u00a0<strong>Gerard Way<\/strong>\u00a0has opened up about the end of the band, almost six years after their breakup.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of their 2010 album &#8216;Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys&#8217;, Gerard shared that the band had reached a peak, and amidst fears that whatever came next wouldn&#8217;t be good enough to meet expectations they called it a day.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWhen things start to succeed and go really well, that\u2019s when a lot of people start to have an opinion and that\u2019s when you run into struggle,\u201d<\/em> he shared. &#8220;<em>Everybody had a fucking opinion about what MCR should be. So it made it difficult to figure out what direction to take next. You get caught up in this trap of \u2018Is it ever gonna be good enough?\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>He continued, sharing \u201c<em>It wasn\u2019t fun to make stuff any more. I think breaking up the band broke us out of that machine.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Gerard had previously shared that My Chemical Romance wasn&#8217;t needed anymore when Barrack Obama was President, as the world had hope. Speaking on whether the change in leadership had sparked any interest in reforming the band, he shared\u00a0\u201c<em>That\u2019s stuff I thought about when the world started to get super fucked-up again. It definitely came into my head, but I\u2019d changed so much as a person. I didn\u2019t know how I\u2019d fit into it any more, I didn\u2019t know how the band would fit into it any more. But you\u2019re right, the world is definitely in need of something positive.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;s not wrong.<\/p>\n<p>But does that mean that a reunion is on the horizon for My Chemical Romance? Sadly no, according to Gerard &#8211; but there have definitely been offers <em>\u201cWe definitely get offers regularly to reunite \u2013 it\u2019s a constant thing. It\u2019s flattering, it\u2019s really nice of people &#8230; I miss playing with the guys, but I don\u2019t think so \u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Gerard released a brand new cover of &#8216;Happy Together&#8217; yesterday with former My Chemical Romance bandmate\u00a0<strong>Ray Toro<\/strong>.
