Less than two weeks into their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/kiss-final-end-of-road-world-tour-726739\/\">End of the Road tour<\/a>, which finds the band headlining arenas, the group opted for a far more intimate setup in conjunction with SiriusXM and their Kiss Army Radio channel.<\/p>\n<p>Fans lined up hours before the gig to try to score an invite to the show, which saw celebs like LL Cool J, Smashing Pumpkins\u2019 Billy Corgan, Red Hot Chili Peppers\u2019 Chad Smith, Foo Fighters\u2019 Taylor Hawkins, No Doubt\u2019s Tony Kanal and George Lopez gawk at the Hall of Famers. (The <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/threesidescoin\/status\/1095130967797313536\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">marquee outside<\/a> boasted \u201cSiriusXM Presents Wicked Lester,\u201d referring to the group\u2019s original name.)<\/p>\n<p>After longtime Kiss obsessive Tom Morello came onstage to mimic the group\u2019s famous intro from 1977\u2019s <em>Alive II<\/em> (\u201cYou wanted the best and you got the best!\u201d), the group performed a 70-minute set that drew heavily from their 1974\u201377 heyday. (Three songs from the Eighties \u2014 1982\u2019s \u201cWar Machine,\u201d 1983\u2019s \u201cLick It Up\u201d and 1984\u2019s \u201cHeaven\u2019s on Fire\u201d \u2014 rounded out the set alongside 2009\u2019s \u201cSay Yeah.\u201d) \u201cHow many of you people have seen us in the Seventies?\u201d Stanley asked the crowd to sizable applause.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yOaZcDXoVWI?version=3&amp;enablejsapi=1&amp;origin=https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com&amp;rel=1&amp;fs=1&amp;autohide=2&amp;showsearch=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;iv_load_policy=1&amp;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In the middle of the show, Stanley acknowledged the role small venues played in the group\u2019s early development now that the band has long been an arena act.
