The melody is minimal, little more than a shivering organ sound. Forward momentum is everything, and even the sharp repetition of the hook functions as jet fuel, pushing\u00a0\u201cVroom Vrau\u201d towards an abrupt, breathless finish.<\/p>\n<p>MC Bin Laden shot to fame five-ish years ago \u2014\u00a0Branko, the Lisbon-based DJ who runs the Enchufada label, credits MC Bin Laden\u2019s\u00a0<span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=dwEm-rU5sAE\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cBololo Haha\u201d<\/a> with \u201cchanging the game\u201d for baile funk.<\/span> Baile funk is popular in Brazil and in the Portuguese-speaking world, and videos from the genre routinely amass hundreds of millions of views on YouTube channels like Kondzilla. Last year, MC Fioti\u2019s \u201cBum Bum Tam Tam\u201d became the first baile funk video to reach one billion views.<\/p>\n<p>However, few baile funk artists have been able to establish a foothold in the U.S. market to date.
