Juice WRLD<\/a> has a brand \u2014 perennially heartbroken \u2014 and he\u2019s doubling down on it. Dark and melodramatic, \u201cRobbery\u201d is a clunky metaphor about a woman demanding love from the Chicago rapper. \u201cShe told me put my heart in the bag\/And nobody gets hurt,\u201d Juice mournfully sings over a sparse and twinkling Nick Mira beat.<\/p>\n

The first verse centers on the conflict between his father\u2019s advice on romance, (\u201cOne thing my dad told me was \u2018Never let your woman know when you\u2019re insecure’\u201d) competing against equally bad advice from his heart (\u201cOne thing my heart tells me is \u2018Flex on a hoe every time they\u2019re insecure’\u201d). The song\u2019s narrative further spins out of control from there. In the world of \u201cRobbery,\u201d Juice needs to keep a gun on him to deal with the hurt, throws rocks at a window and gets high to deal with the fact that the anonymous woman doesn\u2019t pick up the phone fast enough. It\u2019s a lot, maybe too much, but to the millions of kids streaming Juice, it\u2019s probably just right.<\/p>\n
