The songs are the first taste of their album <em>Father of the Bride<\/em>, out this spring.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the band has released their first video from the LP. \u201cHarmony Hall\u201d features frontman Ezra Koenig in a bathrobe grilling up pancakes, jamming with the band in front of fireworks \u2013 plus a recurring appearance by a snake.\u00a0The video was directed by Emmett Malloy, who previously directed videos for the band\u2019s singles \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bccKotFwzoY\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Giving Up the Gun<\/a>\u201d\u00a0and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vraoiVCDdaM\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Holiday<\/a>,\u201d plus music documentaries like the White Stripes\u2019 <em>Under Great White Northern Lights<\/em> and <em>Big Easy Express<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IlkTVMMkCP4?version=3&amp;enablejsapi=1&amp;origin=https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com&amp;rel=1&amp;fs=1&amp;autohide=2&amp;showsearch=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;iv_load_policy=1&amp;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Koenig <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/vampire-weekend-father-of-the-bride-interview-782719\/\">recently told<\/a> <em>Rolling Stone<\/em> about \u201cHarmony Hall,\u201d which is built around a winding acoustic guitar riff, Balearic pianos and Koenig singing, \u201cI don\u2019t wanna live like this, but I don\u2019t wanna die.\u201d \u201cI know a lot of people in bands who have this fatalistic vibe, like, \u2018Oh, no, rock\u2019s dead, nobody cares,\u2019\u201d he says. \u201cSo what are you going to do about it? Either quit, or figure out a way to be excited about it.
