Bob Dylan<\/a>, the Flaming Lips and Elton John<\/a> are among the dozens of artists prepping special releases for Record Store Day<\/a> 2019. The annual event honoring independent, local record stores will be held on April 13th, 2019 around the globe.<\/p>\n

Bob Dylan is set to release a test pressing of his 1975 masterpiece Blood on the Tracks<\/em><\/a>, which has been heavily circulated in bootleg circles but has never been officially released. Last year, Dylan released every surviving take from the Blood on the Tracks<\/em> sessions, but this is the first time the test pressing will be released commercially.<\/p>\n

U2<\/a>\u2019s contribution to the event will be U2: The Europa EP \u2014<\/em>which includes the unique opening from their recent Experience + Innocence Tour\u00a0<\/em>in Europe \u2014 Charlie Chaplin\u2019s final speech in the 1940 film The Great Dictator<\/em>, \u201cLove Is All We Have Left\u201d and 1993\u2019s \u201cZooropa.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elton John\u2019s 1979 performance in Moscow will be released for the first time in honor of its 40th anniversary. A double LP, Live From Moscow<\/em> marks the first time a Western super star toured Russia.<\/p>\n

The Flaming Lips will also release<\/a> their 15th studio album, King\u2019s Mouth<\/em>, on gold vinyl exclusively for Record Store Day. King\u2019s Mouth<\/em>, which shares the same name as frontman Wayne Coyne\u2019s traveling psychedelic art installation, features narration by the Clash\u2019s Mick Jones. After Record Store Day, the album won\u2019t be available until July.<\/p>\n

Record Store Day will also be releasing their own 3-inch turntable, the RSD3. 3\u2033 records will be released as well, including the Foo Fighters<\/a>\u2019 \u201cBig Me,\u201d the fourth single off their 1996 debut album.<\/p>\n

Other highlights include In the Garage: Live Music from WTF with Marc Maron<\/em>, which includes acoustic performances from J Mascis, Margo Price and Jason Isbel; the Woodstock soundtrack, which will be released in mono for the festival\u2019s 50th anniversary.<\/p>\n

Pearl Jam, this year\u2019s Record Store Day ambassadors<\/a>, will be releasing their 2005 CD Live at Easy Street<\/em> for the first time on vinyl. \u201cIndependent record stores are hugely important to me, and have been ever since I was 12 years-old,\u201d guitarist Mike McCready said in a statement. \u201cBefore I even really knew what they were \u2014 there was a certain feeling of \u2018this is a dream come true,\u2019 and it\u2019s a wonderland and there\u2019s so much to learn in here\u2026 and it\u2019s still that way.\u201d<\/p>\n
