Rick Ross<\/a> is writing a memoir. No, it isn\u2019t called Boss<\/em>, M-M-M-M-Maybach Memoir<\/em>, Everyday I\u2019m Hustlin\u2019: A Story of Hustlin<\/em> or Lemon Pepper Memoir<\/em>. Instead, it\u2019s titled HURRICANES<\/em>, which is a symbol of \u201csurviving the storms of life,\u201d according to the press release.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy story has always been deeper than rap,\u201d Ross said in a statement. \u201cWith this book I wanted to go deeper than I ever have. I wanted to tell people about the life of William Leonard Roberts.\u201d<\/p>\n

The memoir will cover Roberts\u2019s upbringing, his rise in the industry and his various legal and health troubles<\/a>. Interestingly, HURRICANES<\/em> will also touch upon Ross\u2019s time as a drug dealer and correctional officer, which was a point of contention throughout his early career. In his 2012 Rolling Stone<\/em> cover story<\/a> he revealed that he became a C.O. after his best friend, Jabar Delancy, was sentenced to 10 years for cocaine and heroin distribution.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was my best friend \u2014 who I ate peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches with, and pork and beans with, my buddy, my partner, my number-one dude,\u201d Ross explained. \u201cSuddenly I\u2019m talking to him over federal phone calls. Hearing the way it was building, I knew I couldn\u2019t take nothing for granted. Right then I kinda wanted to wash my hands\u2026 He was the one who was like, \u2018Yo, go get a job somewhere, man. Go be a fireman. Or go be a fucking corrections officer. Just go sit down somewhere.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

HURRICANES<\/em> was co-written by Neil Martinez-Belkin, who also helped write The Autobiography of Gucci Mane<\/em>. It will be released by Hanover Square Press on September 3, 2019.<\/p>\n
