She loves those two albums and she wanted to hear them, so I\u2019m going to do them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nash is on the road in America now with a show that mixes in songs from his whole career. Only guitarist Shane Fontayne and keyboardist\/singer Todd Caldwell accompany him currently, but he plans on assembling a much larger band for these shows that will include a drummer, bassist, backup singers and a pedal steel player. The show will begin with <em>Songs For Beginners<\/em> followed by <em>Wild Tales<\/em> after a brief intermission.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GnPiwit7oP8?version=3&amp;enablejsapi=1&amp;origin=https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com&amp;rel=1&amp;fs=1&amp;autohide=2&amp;showsearch=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;iv_load_policy=1&amp;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Songs For Beginners<\/em> contains many of his most enduring solo songs, including \u201cMilitary Madness,\u201d I Used to Be a King\u201d and \u201cChicago.\u201d The album reached Number 15 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart, but <em>Wild Tales<\/em> didn\u2019t generate any hits and stalled at Number 34. \u201cIt was actually shit on by Atlantic,\u201d says Nash. \u201cThey never put any energy into promoting it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He hasn\u2019t played some of these songs in decades, so in recent weeks he\u2019s gone over some of the more obscure ones with Fontayne and Caldwell between gigs. \u201cWe are going through song choruses and getting three-part harmonies down,\u201d he says. \u201cWe want to make sure we\u2019re comfortable with the songs before we start rehearsing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As of now, Nash only has plans to play them at four shows on the East Coast.
