The track features <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/carlos-santana\/\" id=\"auto-tag_carlos-santana\" data-tag=\"carlos-santana\">Carlos Santana<\/a> and his eight-piece band, including his wife Cindy Backman Santana on drums, as well as Spanish singer Buika, who provides lead vocals on the compelling cut.<\/p>\n<p>While Santana previously hinted that his new album \u2013 the result of a 10-day session at Rubin\u2019s Shangri La Studios in Malibu, California \u2013 would be called <em>Global Revelation<\/em>, the guitarist has instead chosen the title <em>Africa Speaks<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI went to Rick to see if he would, as Miles Davis would say, \u2018Would you have eyes to do something with me?\u2019\u201d Santana <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/carlos-santana-interview-mona-lisa-ep-778643\/\">told <em>Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> in January.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018I know you\u2019ve worked with everybody like Johnny Cash and the Chili Peppers and Metallica,\u2019 And he goes, \u2018Well, what are you interested in doing?\u2019 I said, \u2018Nothing but African music.\u2019 So can you believe it? We record 49 songs in 10 days. He was very gracious, because it was like a hurricane to record six, seven songs in a day. Rick said, \u2018With Clive Davis, you had a bunch of guest stars and singers. Who do you want in here?\u2019 I said, \u2018I only want two women: Laura Mvula and Buika.\u2019 And he said, \u2018OK.\u2019 So we called them and they said yes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Santana released <em>In Search of Mona Lisa<\/em>, a three-song EP from those Rubin sessions, in January.
