Iconic items from Slash<\/a>\u2019s Guns N\u2019 Roses tenure \u2013 including the guitarist\u2019s top hate, coffin-shaped guitar case and his 1988 MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist \u2013 will go to the highest bidder as part of an \u201cuncoupling auction\u201d following Slash\u2019s split from his wife Perla Hudson.<\/p>\n

Julien\u2019s Auctions<\/a> will host the May sale focusing on \u201csome of the most personal and unique items from the magnificent Beverly Hills estate that Perla Hudson and legendary Guns N\u2019Roses guitarist Slash shared during their 14-year marriage as well as memorabilia and ephemera related to Slash\u2019s career,\u201d the auction house said in a statement.<\/p>\n

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Youth Emerging Stronger (YES), which provide safety, stability and housing to runaway, homeless and foster youth.<\/p>\n

Among the more notable items include Slash\u2019s MTV Music Video Award Moonman trophy, which Guns N\u2019 Roses received as the Best New Artist for the \u201cWelcome to the Jungle\u201d video; the Moonman, inscribed with Slash\u2019s name, has a pre-auction estimate of $15,000. Platinum records from Slash\u2019s career and his Hollywood Walk of Fame plaque will also go to auction.<\/p>\n

In addition to Slash\u2019s inimitable stage garb \u2013 from top hats, leather jackets to snakeskin boots \u2013 fans can also bid on the guitarist\u2019s black Jim Dunlop DCR-IFC Wah pedal.<\/p>\n

More personable items include items from Slash and Perla\u2019s wedding, like her \u201cbeaded and sequin top hat wedding veil\u201d and \u201ca sculpted plastic wedding cake topper custom fitted with top hat, veil, and hair to represent the couple.\u201d There was also handwritten love letters the couple exchanged and \u201ca Stephen McSwain Wicked Witch of the West guitar, signed \u2018For Perla, Merry Xmas & Happy Valentine\u2019s Day from your loving husband Slash.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Slash and Perla\u2019s \u201cuncoupling auction\u201d will take place May 17th and 18th at New York\u2019s Hard Rock Caf\u00e9 and online.<\/p>\n
