We spoke to six Coachella vets about their favorite festival experiences and the essentials all attendees should pack, to ensure a memorable and \u2018grammable weekend.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Diplo<\/strong><br \/><em>The DJ and producer takes the stage for a solo set on both Friday nights at Coachella this year. His latest single, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Close-To-Me-Explicit\/dp\/B07JWFVBM5\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?keywords=close+to+me&amp;qid=1554511438&amp;s=gateway&amp;sr=8-1&amp;linkCode=ll1&amp;tag=rollingston07-20&amp;linkId=8bbedc9850210350775e319cbcbb4296&amp;language=en_US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Close To Me<\/a>\u201d (which features Ellie Goulding and Swae Lee) has so far peaked at #27 on the Billboard Hot 100.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The last couple of times I\u2019ve played Coachella have been with my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Major-Lazer\/e\/B002A08T0G\/digital\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?_encoding=UTF8&amp;sn=d&amp;linkCode=ll2&amp;tag=rollingston07-20&amp;linkId=ff5fc0113a8b4ac73954f8173d489065&amp;language=en_US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">other project Major Lazer<\/a> and with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Skrillex-Diplo-present-Jack-Explicit\/dp\/B00U0AHRJW\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?keywords=jack+U&amp;qid=1554509092&amp;s=dmusic&amp;sr=1-1&amp;linkCode=ll1&amp;tag=rollingston07-20&amp;linkId=c8d372d46a33ebb404f5ec21cb7802f3&amp;language=en_US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Jack \u00dc<\/a>. I\u2019ve played Coachella enough times now that I\u2019ve definitely lost count, but it\u2019s such a great time always, even if I\u2019m just attending. It\u2019s got a vibe that\u2019s so different from every other festival so I really look forward to going every year.<\/p>\n<p>Just for festival season in general, my schedule always gets so busy this time of year so I always like to have Dosist pens on hand to <a href=\"https:\/\/dosist.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">help me chill out<\/a>. I\u2019m always doing a dozen things at once so I have them all over my house, in my studio to help me slow down in between all the traveling. Hilton released his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/City-Fire-Tyler-Hilton\/dp\/B07JBZ15FP\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?keywords=tyler+hilton&amp;qid=1554597514&amp;s=gateway&amp;sr=8-2&amp;linkCode=ll1&amp;tag=rollingston07-20&amp;linkId=89d97b9714cd7d9bab48c7369451cb92&amp;language=en_US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">fifth studio album, \u201cCity On Fire,\u201d<\/a> in January, and is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ticketmaster.com\/tyler-hilton-tickets\/artist\/948478\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">touring through the summer<\/a> in support of the new record. New single, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/album\/how-long-til-i-lose-you-single\/1440560966\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">How Long Till I Lose You<\/a>\u201d came out last week.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m from Indio, and my earliest memories of Coachella are playing the polo grounds when I was 15, right before they started turning that space into a full festival venue. Since then, I\u2019ve been to Coachella for a handful of the festivals, but 2011 was the one I really remember wanting to stick around for as much as possible. It was like my entire iPod at one festival.<\/p>\n<p>Paul McCartney in 2009 was also an incredible night, which took me by surprise a bit. There can be an atmosphere of \u201cmy band is cooler than your band\u201d at Coachella because every band is incredible. So you\u2019re trying to pull your friends to this tent for this band, but they\u2019re trying to make a case for a different band playing main stage at the same time and on and on. But everyone came to see McCartney and everyone was singing along. It was that rare moment where everyone knew almost every word to every song. It felt more innocent than cool \u2013 definitely something special.<\/p>\n<p>People go crazy in the desert. The desert\u2019s always been where people go to get weird. I recommend that everyone should wear sneakers at Coachella since you are on your feet throughout the weekend. Also, I think it is important to bring your own refillable water bottle because we use too much plastic. It is amazing how the entire world can meet in one place, all there for the love of music. It feels good to be together.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SG Lewis<\/strong><br \/><em>The UK electro artist has collaborated with everyone from G-Eazy and Chad Hugo (of The Neptunes) and the singer\/multi-instrumentalist just hit more than a quarter-billion streams online. His new album, \u201cDawn\u201d is out April 26 and is the final installation from his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/SG-Lewis\/e\/B0742M2NHN\/digital\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?_encoding=UTF8&amp;sn=d&amp;linkCode=ll2&amp;tag=rollingston07-20&amp;linkId=587c95f09741194b12818b7b914385a0&amp;language=en_US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">\u201cDusk, Dark, Dawn\u201d three-part album series<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I played my first Coachella in 2016, in the Yuma tent early in the day. It was super early in my career and I felt super lucky to be on the lineup, and even then it completely blew my expectations out the water. It was the first US festival I played at, and I didn\u2019t think anyone would come watch. When I mixed in the first of my own songs in the set, the whole tent went crazy \u2013 I was honestly in shock. I don\u2019t think I\u2019ll ever forget that feeling. I\u2019m so excited to be back, and to be bringing the live show this time!<\/p>\n<p>In terms of essentials for surviving the desert, definitely start with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Levis-Bandanas-100-Cotton-Headband\/dp\/B01MQ4II97\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?crid=1OTSQ8YHTLWWM&amp;keywords=red+bandana+headband&amp;qid=1554507693&amp;s=gateway&amp;sprefix=red+ban,digital-music,189&amp;sr=8-4&amp;linkCode=ll1&amp;tag=rollingston07-20&amp;linkId=b0412d176e5c069ce6a8311f8e46a3b6&amp;language=en_US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">face mask or bandana<\/a>. It\u2019s pretty dusty out in the desert, and if the wind picks up you can end up eating dust. Have something on hand to cover your mouth and eyes.<\/p>\n<p>I would also bring a fanny pack (ed note: festivals will be pretty strict this year about what you can bring into the grounds, and organizers have recommended carrying clear bags, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Shiny-Fanny-Festival-Hologram-Travel\/dp\/B07CGDP91K\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?keywords=clear+fanny+pack&amp;qid=1554507736&amp;s=gateway&amp;sr=8-4&amp;linkCode=ll1&amp;tag=rollingston07-20&amp;linkId=0f97498bb9ff9d75627a2b1b1690b6cc&amp;language=en_US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">like this one from Amazon<\/a>, to avoid hold-ups at security). I started wearing one over the shoulder as an accessory, but it turns out they\u2019re pretty functional too \u2013 who knew? It makes carrying essentials much easier, and can elevate a \u2018fit too.<\/p>\n<p>It gets pretty hot out there, and you wanna stay smelling fresh for the whole night right? Solid perfumes are super compact and won\u2019t get confiscated by security. Diptyque does a really good one. I remember the atmosphere being so vibrant that year. I was at a time in my adolescence where I felt like a sponge. I wanted to absorb it all \u2014 the music, the fashion, the culture \u2014 and I most certainly did that. I cannot wait to be back this year, and I am most excited to perform alongside such a great collection of artists at the Coachella House.<\/p>\n<p>For any festival, I always try to travel as light as possible; only the bare essentials. Known for his style, fitness and travel content, he\u2019s returning to Coachella for the fifth time this year.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Coachella isn\u2019t just a music festival, it\u2019s actually way more than that. There\u2019s fashion, tech, culture, art, friendship, and of course, amazing music. The festival starts way before the first song is played \u2013 it starts when you\u2019re sitting at home trying to figure out your outfits and your schedule for that weekend.
