{"id":484415,"date":"2019-04-08T08:06:03","date_gmt":"2019-04-08T14:06:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=818996"},"modified":"2019-04-08T08:06:03","modified_gmt":"2019-04-08T14:06:03","slug":"watch-beyonces-trailer-for-new-coachella-documentary-homecoming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kqzr\/music-news\/watch-beyonces-trailer-for-new-coachella-documentary-homecoming\/","title":{"rendered":"Watch Beyonce\u2019s Trailer for New Coachella Documentary \u2018Homecoming\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/beyonce-coachella-doc.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/beyonce\/\">Beyonc\u00e9<\/a> released the first trailer for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/title\/81013626\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Homecoming<\/em><\/a>, a documentary film about her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-live-reviews\/from-coachella-to-beychella-beyonce-schools-festivalgoers-in-her-triumphant-return-627815\/\">legendary headlining performance<\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/coachella\/\" id=\"auto-tag_coachella\" data-tag=\"coachella\">Coachella<\/a> in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The film will premiere on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/netflix\/\" id=\"auto-tag_netflix\" data-tag=\"netflix\">Netflix<\/a> on April 17th \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/beyonce-netflix-coachella-homecoming-818786\/\">between the two weekends<\/a> of this year\u2019s Coachella \u2013 and will depict previously unseen rehearsal and behind-the-scenes footage of the performance as well as the concert itself. The Coachella performance, which was live-streamed, was the first time a black woman headlined the festival in its 19-year history.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cInterspersed with candid footage and interviews detailing the preparation and powerful intent behind her vision, <em>Homecoming<\/em> [will trace] the emotional road from creative concept to cultural movement,\u201d said a spokesperson said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The film will focus on the performance\u2019s homage to historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), and how Beyonc\u00e9 drew inspiration from the black collegiate experience.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Earlier this year, through her BeyGood initiative, Beyonc\u00e9 announced her Homecoming Scholars Award Program, a scholarship program at four HBCUs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/watch-beyonces-trailer-for-new-coachella-documentary-homecoming-818996\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via:: Rolling Stone<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beyonc\u00e9 released the first trailer for Homecoming, a documentary film about her legendary headlining performance at Coachella in 2018.
