Springsteen doesn\u2019t appear in the video, which shows an old car with New Jersey plates traveling through the desert.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">He spent all week <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/bruce-springsteen-new-album-826796\/\">teasing this release<\/a> with cryptic photos of desert landscapes on his social media accounts, and on Thursday morning he revealed that his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/bruce-springsteen-western-stars-album-827040\/\">new LP <em>Western Stars<\/em><\/a> \u2013 his first album of new, original songs since 2012\u2019s <em>Wrecking Ball<\/em> \u2013 would come out on June 14th.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThis record is a return to my solo recordings featuring character driven songs and sweeping, cinematic orchestral arrangements,\u201d Springsteen said in a statement. \u201cIt\u2019s a jewel box of a record.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The album was inspired by Sixties\/Seventies California pop artists like Burt Bacharach and Glen Campbell, and the influence is very evident on \u201cHello Sunshine,\u201d which is very much in the same vein as classics like \u201cWichita Lineman\u201d and \u201cEverybody\u2019s Talkin\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cI don\u2019t know if people will hear those influences, but that was what I had in my mind,\u201d Springsteen <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2018\/music\/news\/bruce-springsteen-talks-trump-new-album-and-hints-at-an-upcoming-tour-1203078221\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told <em>Variety<\/em> in December<\/a>. \u201cIt gave me something to hook an album around; it gave me some inspiration to write. And also, it\u2019s a singer-songwriter record. It\u2019s connected to my solo records writing-wise, more <em>Tunnel of Love<\/em> and <em>Devils &amp; Dust<\/em>, but it\u2019s not like them at all. Just different characters living their lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em>Western Stars<\/em> was produced by Ron Aniello and features contributions by founding E Street Band keyboardist David Sancious and Soozie Tyrell and Charlie Giordano of the current incarnation of the group.
