{"id":485935,"date":"2019-05-16T07:54:08","date_gmt":"2019-05-16T13:54:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=836031"},"modified":"2019-05-16T07:54:08","modified_gmt":"2019-05-16T13:54:08","slug":"soundgarden-announce-live-from-the-artists-den-album-immersive-film-events","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kqzr\/music-news\/soundgarden-announce-live-from-the-artists-den-album-immersive-film-events\/","title":{"rendered":"Soundgarden Announce \u2018Live From the Artists Den\u2019 Album, Immersive Film Events"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/9220065a.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/soundgarden\/\" id=\"auto-tag_soundgarden\" data-tag=\"soundgarden\">Soundgarden<\/a> have unveiled plans to release a live film and album called <em>Soundgarden: Live From the Artists Den<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The material, set for release July 26th in conjunction with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/chris-cornell\/\" id=\"auto-tag_chris-cornell\" data-tag=\"chris-cornell\">Chris Cornell<\/a> Estate and the Artists Den, hails from a February 17th, 2013 Live From the Artists Den taping at the Wiltern in Los Angeles, California that concluded the group\u2019s U.S. winter tour in support of their final album <em>King Animal<\/em>. The career-spanning, nearly two-and-a-half hour set comprised 29 songs, which included early song \u201cHunted Down,\u201d radio hit \u201cBlack Hole Sun\u201d and several <em>King Animal<\/em> tracks, such as \u201cBy Crooked Steps\u201d and \u201cBeen Away Too Long.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It also included \u201cBlind Dogs,\u201d which the band performed live for the first time, and is one of 21 songs that have never been featured in a Soundgarden concert film. The LP will be available in several formats. The limited edition Super Deluxe box houses four LPs, two CDs, a photo book and the concert film on Blu-Ray, which also features bonus band interviews alongside other memorabilia. It will also be available on 4-LP colored vinyl (limited edition), 4-LP black vinyl, as well as on Blu-Ray and as a 2-CD set. The aforementioned are <a href=\"https:\/\/ume.lnk.to\/SoundgardenTheArtistsDen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">currently available for pre-order<\/a>, with the digital live album and digital live video versions available for preorder on May 31st.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were very proud and excited to document the performance of our new material from <em>King Animal<\/em>,\u201d guitarist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/kim-thayil\/\" id=\"auto-tag_kim-thayil\" data-tag=\"kim-thayil\">Kim Thayil<\/a> said in a statement. \u201cAnd to celebrate with each other and our fans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the album\u2019s release, Artists Den is presenting <em>Soundgarden: Live from the Artist Den<\/em> immersive events at Wiltern in Los Angeles on June 17th and Brooklyn Steel in Brooklyn, New York on June 18th.
