Icelandic rock quintet Of Monsters & Men<\/a> took to the stage on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon<\/em> Wednesday night to perform their new song \u201cAlligator,\u201d off of their upcoming album FEVER DREAM.<\/em><\/p>\n

The album gets its title from \u201cAlligator,\u201d a churning guitar-heavy anthem and the band\u2019s first new music release since their 2015 record Beneath the Skin<\/em>. It\u2019s a much harder and kinetic sound than the folk-pop of Of Monsters & Men\u2019s 2011 debut My Head Is An Animal<\/em>, demonstrating an evolution from their whimsical breakout hit \u201cLittle Talks\u201d to a more mature musical identity. Performing on the Fallon<\/em> stage, the band lit up the room in burning red light, and vocalist Nanna Brynd\u00eds, who also wrote the song, gave a stellar lead performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe song very much speaks to the excitement and energy that we feel about being back,\u201d the band said of the song in a joint statement. \u201cWe can\u2019t wait to share more music and see everyone again.\u201d<\/p>\n

The band also announced a North American tour in support of FEVER DREAM<\/em>, which is out July 26th.<\/p>\n
