The shows will mark their first concerts in Australia since 2010 and their first appearances ever in Singapore and South Korea.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s only taken me 30 years to learn how to sing these songs and it\u2019s great to be able to say that I\u2019ve finally caught up with the band,\u201d Bono said in a statement. \u201cOur audience has given the <em>Joshua Tree<\/em> a whole new life on this tour. Doing these shows has been very special for us, a lot of emotion\u2026 From the despair of how relevant some of the dark songs still are, to the joy, pure fun of the staging\u2026 it\u2019s quite a ride. And now we get to do it all over again. Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul\u2026 We\u2019re coming for you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Edge echoes the sentiment in his own statement. \u201cWe really, REALLY wanted to bring <em>The Joshua Tree<\/em> to New Zealand, Australia and Asia,\u201d he said. \u201cWe promised we would and finally, now we can say that we will see you in November\u2026 It\u2019s going to feel like a homecoming and we are very excited.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kZBp2OK_xU0?version=3&amp;enablejsapi=1&amp;origin=https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com&amp;rel=1&amp;fs=1&amp;autohide=2&amp;showsearch=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;iv_load_policy=1&amp;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The 2017 incarnation of <em>The Joshua Tree<\/em> tour featured a complete performance of the album along with classics like \u201cSunday Bloody Sunday,\u201d \u201cNew Year\u2019s Day\u201d and \u201cBad.\u201d \u201cWe\u2019ve never given ourselves the opportunity to celebrate our past because we\u2019ve always as a band looked forward,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/the-edge-breaks-down-u2s-upcoming-joshua-tree-tour-111050\/\">The Edge told <em>Rolling Stone<\/em> in 2017<\/a>, \u201cbut I think we felt that this was a special moment, and this was a very special record. So we\u2019re happy to take this moment to regroup and think about an album that\u2019s so many years old, but still seems relevant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>U2 followed up <em>The Joshua Tree<\/em> tour with the new album <em>Songs of Experience<\/em> and a tour where they didn\u2019t play even a single song from <em>The Joshua Tree<\/em>. There\u2019s no indication on U2\u2019s future recording plans, but last year <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/the-edge-on-u2s-experience-tour-this-is-for-our-committed-fans-628392\/\">The Edge told <em>Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> that he feels ready for a break. \u201cThere\u2019s been three tours that have been on each other\u2019s heels pretty quickly,\u201d he said. \u201cI would say that we\u2019ll probably take a little bit of a break at the end of this tour and regroup.
