Directed by Christina Acevedo, the video features Sofia Bolt, a.k.a. Am\u00e9lie Rousseaux, in Los Angeles\u2019 El Prado bar under a shimmering disco ball. Everyone is disguised by a painted mask except for Rousseaux, who sits uncomfortably alone, sipping a glass of wine and getting covered in silly string.<\/p>\n<p>Light floods into the bar as Rousseaux becomes captivated by a heart-shaped stranger. They kiss and exchange phone numbers, but Rousseaux ends up alone, strumming her guitar inside a heart while covered in blood. \u201cIf I do ever change\/I\u2019m gonna fill that gap with my own heart,\u201d she sings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe song gives a rundown of a \u2018love at first sight\u2019 experience I had in London in 2009,\u201d Rousseaux said in a statement. \u201cWe tried to recreate the bar sounds in the studio\u2019s control room for the song intro. I do not remember how a rain stick got in there though!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rousseaux spent the spring on tour in Europe with Stella Donnelly. \u201cLondon 2009\u201d is the third single from Waves, following the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qNW39H631IY\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">title track<\/a> that features string arrangements by Van Dyke Parks and \u201cGet Out of My Head.\u201d <em>Waves<\/em> will be released on June 28th.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/sofia-bolt-finds-love-at-first-sight-in-video-for-london-2009-842352\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via:: Rolling Stone<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Things get weird in Sofia Bolt\u2019s video for \u201cLondon 2009,\u201d the hazy new single from her upcoming debut album Waves.
