The singer said that her throat nearly closed. \u201cStill feels like I\u2019m swallowing a cactus,\u201d she wrote. Grande concluded the message with an all-caps send-off: \u201cThere is NOTHING MORE UNFAIR THAN AN ITALIAN WOMAN DEVELOPING AN ALLERGY TO TOMATOES IN HER MID TWENTIES.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She\u2019s not wrong. Grande, whose full last name is Grande-Butera, is half-Sicilian and half-Abruzzese. This means that like most Italian-Americans (including this writer) Grande consumes more tomato products than she does water. We <em>always<\/em> leave the gun and take the cannoli.<\/p>\n<p>Grande\u2019s canceled shows in her home state \u2014 May 28th in Tampa and May 29th in Orlando \u2014 have been rescheduled to November 24th and 25th. The singer is still scheduled to perform tonight, where she\u2019ll play the first of two back-to-back nights at Miami\u2019s American Airlines Arena.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2019\/05\/30\/ariana-grandes-sudden-tomato-allergy-is-actually-very-common\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">New York Post<\/a><\/em>, Grande\u2019s sudden allergic reaction is actually fairly common: more than half of adults with food allergies were diagnosed with them later in life.
