On her latest track, Kesha<\/a> wants to know \u201cWhat if rich, straight, white men didn\u2019t rule the world anymore?\u201d The singer\u2019s new song, \u201cRich, White, Straight, Men,\u201d released to YouTube as a surprise for fans, takes on modern political and social concerns.<\/p>\n

The thumping, punk-laced pop song tackles inequality as Kesha imagines a new world, singing, \u201cAnd if you are a boy who loves a boy\/You\u2019ll get a wedding cake and all\/And if you are a lady and you do your lady work\/Then you will make as many dollars as the boys\/Not just two thirds.\u201d She also invokes children\u2019s tune \u201cTwinkle, Twinkle Little Star,\u201d reimagining the lyrics as: \u201cTwinkle, twinkle little star\/How I wish the world was different\/Where who you love and who you are\/Was nobody\u2019s fucking business.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kesha\u2019s last full-length album, Rainbow<\/em>, dropped in 2017. She released a documentary<\/a> about the recording, Rainbow \u2013 The Film,<\/em> last year, detailing how making the album felt like a life-saving experience. \u201cMaking Rainbow<\/em> the album was such a therapeutic process and given the opportunity to turn it into a three dimensional piece of art has helped me find even deeper healing and catharsis,\u201d the singer said in a statement. She added, \u201cI hope this film inspires others to never give up even if you feel full of hurt or lost, because after the storm comes a rainbow.\u201d<\/p>\n
