Following in line with the \u201cwhat if our world but a little different\u201d atmosphere of the show,&nbsp;<em>Black Mirror&nbsp;<\/em>Season Five, released this week on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/netflix\/\">Netflix<\/a>, features <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/miley-cyrus\/\">Miley Cyrus<\/a> in the episode \u201cRachel, Jack and Ashley Too\u201d as a world-renowned pop star, singing Top 40 versions of what are recognizably <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/nine-inch-nails\/\">Nine Inch Nails<\/a> songs.<\/p>\n<p><em>Black Mirror<\/em> creator and showrunner Charlie Booker, with the blessing of NIN frontman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/trent-reznor\/\">Trent Reznor<\/a>, rewrote \u201cHead Like a Hole\u201d and other Nine Inch Nails hits into pop standards.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Reznor] wanted to see the script and I got to re-write his lyrics in a chirpy way,\u201d Booker said in a press statement. \u201cI\u2019m not the best lyricist in the world\u2014in the first song she\u2019s singing: \u2018I\u2019m stoked on ambition and verve\u2019 instead of \u2018You\u2019re gonna get what you deserve.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Co-creator and executive producer Annabel Jones added that Reznor found the rewrites funny. \u201cThere are lots of dark concepts in the film and we just enjoy that sort of childish subversion of them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To coincide with the season premiere, Nine Inch Nails debuted a new&nbsp;<em>Black Mirror<\/em>-themed T-shirt.
