Madonna<\/a> has unveiled her new video for \u201cDark Ballet.\u201d It\u2019s the fifth and final preview that will be released from her forthcoming Madame X<\/em>, due June 14th. The cinematic clip stars Mykki Blanco<\/a>, who portrays Joan of Arc.<\/p>\n

In the visually arresting Emmanuel Adjei-directed video, Mykki Blanco is seen bravely facing adversity from various religious figures and onlookers and dancing despite the impending, inescapable doom to come.<\/p>\n

The star mouths along to Madonna\u2019s lyrics, \u201c\u2018Cause your world is such a shame\/\u2019Cause your world\u2019s obsessed with fame,\u201d Madonna sings on the chorus. \u201c\u2018Cause your world\u2019s in so much pain\/\u2019Cause your world is\/\u2019Cause your world is up in flames.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe fought the English and she won, still the French were not happy,\u201d Madonna says of the inspiration behind the video and song, Joan of Arc. \u201cStill they judged her. They said she was a man, they said she was a lesbian, they said she was a witch, and, in the end, they burned her at the stake, and she feared nothing. I admire that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The clip closes with inspiring words from Mykki Blanco: \u201cI have walked this earth, Black, Queer and HIV positive, but no transgression against me has been as powerful as the hope I hold within.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDark Ballet\u201d follows the previously released Madame X<\/em> songs, \u201cFuture<\/a>\u201d featuring Quavo, \u201cCrave<\/a>\u201d with Rae Sremmurd\u2019s Swae Lee, \u201cI Rise<\/a>\u201d and the Maluma featuring \u201cMedell\u00edn<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n
