{"id":486844,"date":"2019-06-10T08:25:01","date_gmt":"2019-06-10T14:25:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=846192"},"modified":"2019-06-10T08:25:01","modified_gmt":"2019-06-10T14:25:01","slug":"heroes-and-villains-clash-in-chemical-brothers-new-eve-of-destruction-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kqzr\/music-news\/heroes-and-villains-clash-in-chemical-brothers-new-eve-of-destruction-video\/","title":{"rendered":"Heroes and Villains Clash in Chemical Brothers\u2019 New \u2018Eve of Destruction\u2019 Video"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Screen-Shot-2019-06-10-at-6.37.38-AM.png\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>Ahead of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/the-chemical-brothers\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-chemical-brothers\" data-tag=\"the-chemical-brothers\">the Chemical Brothers<\/a>\u2019 headlining gig at Glastonbury, the electronic duo have released their new video for \u201cEve of Destruction,\u201d the opening track off their recent album <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/review-chemical-brothers-no-geography-820572\/\">No Geography<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In the spirit of the legendary Japanese sci-fi series <em>Ultraman<\/em>, the \u201cEve of Destruction\u201d video, directed by the duo\u2019s longtime visual collaborators Adam Smith and Marcus Lyall, features an army of elaborately dressed superheroes and villains in DYI outfits duking it out to the Chemical Brothers\u2019 frenzied beat.<\/p>\n<p>Chemical Brothers previously shared videos for \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/the-chemical-brothers-free-yourself-video-756080\/\">Free Yourself<\/a>,\u201d \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/chemical-brothers-mah-video-775807\/\">MAH<\/a>\u201d and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/the-chemical-brothers-new-video-weve-got-to-try-806140\/\">We\u2019ve Got to Try<\/a>\u201d from their 2019 LP. The duo previously announced a pair of North American gig this summer, August 1st in Queens, New York \u2013 their first New York City area show in nearly 10 years \u2013 and an August 3rd <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/childish-gambino-chemical-brothers-headline-montreals-osheaga-festival-813840\/\">headlining slot at Montreal\u2019s Osheaga Festiva<\/a>l.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Chemical Brothers have revealed plans to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their 1999 LP <em>Surrender<\/em> this summer with a massive reissue featuring previously unreleased \u2018Secret Psychedelic Mixes\u2019 of&nbsp;the <em>Surrender<\/em>&nbsp;tracks, album-era remixes and a DVD of restored promo videos and film of their Glastonbury 2000 performance.
